Eons ago one of my favorite flashfic coms had prompts of four unrelated words. Like one challenge would be "rain, green, soft, able." I'd like to see the occasional prompt of that type. :-)

I love themes that can be taken to mean more than one thing (like "games" above). I always suggest "blue" and "invisible" and maybe even other ones like "warm".

How about a random word generator, where participants go to an URL like this: http://watchout4snakes.com/creativitytools/RandomWord/RandomWordPlus.aspx

and have to write their fic on whatever their word is. Honor system, of course, that they don't hit 'refresh' to get a better word.

Or, provide an opening sentence that everyone can riff off of. "It was a dark and stormy mid-afternoon."

Maybe we should have a "kink" prompt. It wouldn't even have to be sex - kink could be for a kink on the plans, kink in your hair, Kinky Friedman...
