I loved this. I especially loved how the story morphed from one thing into another and then into a completely different thing. The character interaction was terrific, and I did love the little shout-out to the "Whee!" scene.
The Eirlys story was really well-done. You did a great job of building up to the revelation that she was Ianto's daughter, without either telegraphing it or resorting to awkward literary contortions to keep the secret. Everything was completely plausible. And then you did it again, building up to the painful, heartbreaking revelation that she isn't real, or human. And Ianto and Jennifer love her anyway. Very nice piece of storytelling.
I also liked the way you built Ianto's backstory. And I completely believe that Jack is irresistable to grandmothers. And four-year-olds. :)
Again, this was a really great story, well-written and deftly plotted. I enjoyed it thoroughly, and thanks for sharing it.
